North Ladoga Skerries, marble quarry and mysterious Valaam.

Karelia is a millennium period way over the lakes and kilometres of taiga. From Varangians and Greeks, fishermen and brigands, to Peter the Great and Andrew the Apostle, this land of glaciers and legends has hosted the main characters of European history. We will see the vast Ladoga lake from a height of Yeleon mountain in Valaam and visit the mines of marble. We will ski through snowy Taiga like giants in Karelian Kalevala legend, and we will listen to fireplace guitar songs.

Karelia is the first resort in Russian Empire. One half of the republic’s territory is composed of forests and one third is composed of lakes and rivers. Isolation and severe nature make Karelia a home for legendary monasteries and sketes. More than a hundred of songs are composed on the beauty of this land.
